What Earth is listening to right now

Somewhere it’s the middle of the night; somewhere the sun’s just up; somewhere a storm is rolling through — and on all of it, people are quietly tuned into a local station. This is the live pulse of that: how many are listening on LiveEarthViewer this minute, where they are, and which stations are hot right now. It’s the same rooms the listening globe opens, gathered into one moving line.

Reading the live pulse…

What “now” means here

Every number on this page is LiveEarthViewer’s own concurrent listeners, counted live. While your audio is actually playing, your browser sends a quiet heartbeat every few seconds carrying only where you’re tuned(a city and a station) — never your name, no account, no tracking id, nothing stored on your device. Stop or close the tab and the heartbeat stops, so you drop off the pulse within a minute. That means the count can only ever reflect people actually listening this minute— it is never estimated or padded, and when the world is quiet the page says so. The guessing game is deliberately kept off this ticker, so it can never give away a mystery station.
