SKY Β· SUN & MOON TIMES
Sunrise, Sunset, Twilight & Moon Times
The everyday almanac: what time the Sun rises and sets, how long the day lasts, when each stage of twilight falls, the golden and blue hour for photographers, and when the Moon rises and sets β worked out for your city in its own local time.
The stages of dusk, explained
Sunset isn't the end of daylight β it's the start of twilight, which comes in three stages as the Sun sinks further below the horizon:
Still bright enough to do most things outdoors without a light. The brightest planets and stars start to appear.
The horizon at sea becomes hard to make out. Many more stars are visible; the sky is deep blue to black.
True darkness. The faintest stars and the Milky Way appear β the moment that matters for stargazing.
The golden hour β that warm, soft, flattering light β runs while the Sun sits roughly between +6Β° and β4Β°, just before and after it touches the horizon. The blue hour is the short, deep-blue window straight after. Your city page works out all of these to the minute.
