WEATHER Β· TEMPERATURE
Temperature
Air temperature at 2 m, the world recoloured cold-blue to hot-red β the headline field, on by default.
What it shows
Temperature shows the air temperature about two metres above the ground β the figure a thermometer in the shade would read, the one you feel when you step outside.
How to read it
Cold air reads blue and deep purple; warm air shifts through green and yellow into orange and red. Watch the day-night band sweep around the planet and the great heat domes build over continents in summer. Tap anywhere and the readout can switch between air temperature, feels-like (how hot or cold it actually feels once humidity and wind are folded in) and dew point (how muggy the air is) β three readings for the same spot.
